Berlin, January 20, 2026. The Supervisory Board of Tele Columbus AG announces that Christoph Lüthe will take over the operational management of the company as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Management Board by April 1 at the latest.
With this change in leadership, Tele Columbus is ensuring the consistent continuation of its strategic orientation. The company will continue to focus on expanding and consolidating its high-performance fiber optic infrastructure, sustainably strengthening its core business, and further developing innovative products and services for residential and business customers under the PŸUR brand. The goal remains to further position Tele Columbus as a leading provider of modern digital infrastructure in Germany and to achieve long-term profitable growth.
Christoph Lüthe has been Managing Director of the vitronet Group since May 2021. Previously, he was CEO of Deutsche Infrastruktur- und Netzgesellschaft mbH and Managing Director of STG Group. Other management positions included the management of ista and many years at Unitymedia, most recently as Senior Vice President. He thus has more than two decades of experience in the telecommunications and infrastructure industry.
The new CEO is taking up his post at a time when Tele Columbus has made significant progress in its strategic transformation. This includes the expansion of fiber optics in the gigabit footprint, the optimization of operational efficiency, and the consistent anchoring of sustainability and responsible corporate governance as integral components of the corporate strategy.
Peer Knauer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tele Columbus AG, explains: “The Supervisory Board deliberately chose Christoph Lüthe as CEO because he will continue Tele Columbus’ existing strategy with clarity, implementation strength, and entrepreneurial vision. The focus will be on expanding our fiber optic infrastructure, strengthening our market position, and sustainably increasing value for our stakeholders. We are convinced that Christoph Lüthe, with his many years of experience in the cable and fiber optic market, will successfully shape the next phase of our company’s development.”
Designated CEO Christoph Lüthe adds: “Tele Columbus has many customers in the Internet and TV sector, a strong technological base, committed employees, and a clear strategic focus. Until the CEO position is filled, the company will be managed by the members of the Executive Board Jochen Busch (CCO), Christian Biechteler (CSO), and Tim Rhoenisch (CFO). Joachim Lubsczyk will continue to support the Executive Board as an advisor and take on some of the CEO’s responsibilities.
